Nova Inflatables - Environmental Policy & Recycling
With the world looking to reduce carbon emissions so to are Nova Inflatables. While it is true our products our made from materials such a Oxford Cloth, Polyester and PVC materials we have worked hard to reduce our carbon footprint in several significant industry leading ways. Some of the improvements range from simple office changes through to the producing of the fabrics we use in our Hot air balloons and Inflatables a much more energy efficient way reducing our carbon footprint by as much as much as 50% each year compared to 2017 in the materials we use.
Low Carbon Inflatable Advertising compared to other forms of Advertising
Just like a Dog isn’t just for Christmas our inflatables are not just for one time usage. While many of our Inflatables get used for short term advertising projects and even one time usage at an event they are always designed to be robust and used again and again and we do encourage our customers to continually use them. If customers have finished with their inflatables we are more than happy to take them back. If the inflatables are unbranded we will look to use them within our hire fleet when a customer has finished with them. The beauty for using inflatables for projects is just how low carbon they actually are compared to Billboard advertising and other forms of outside advertising. One day you can have the inflatable in London and the next day it can be in Bristol and if it is small and light enough can even take it packed up on the train reducing your carbon footprint still further.
Reducing the Carbon Footprint in our Materials
Nova Inflatables are a great advocate in reducing the carbon footprint we use within our inflatables and work with our suppliers to ensure the Environmental impact of its manufacturer is taken into account. In 2021 we reduced the energy required to produce some of the Materials we use in our Inflatables and Hot air Balloons by 30% not only did this reduce our carbon footprint but we found other benefits in the material including strength, durability and airtightness went up by 300%. This ensured we did not have to replace products so quickly for Customers.
Working with Partners who Believe in the Sustainability
Nova Inflatables work with Couriers and Suppliers who believe in reducing the Carbon Footprint. Our main courier of choice DHL have been at the full front of changing their entire logistic system including Van, Rail, Ship and Air to a more Carbon neutral system. Our Hot air Balloon manufacturer Kubicek Balloons has been at the full front of reducing the Carbon Footprint of their Products. So much so that each balloon made is 96% Recyclable once it has finished its life cycle.
Recycling your Inflatable
When customers have finished with their inflatables we are always happy to take them back so they can be recycled or used again for another project if appropriate. We recycle the inflatables by stripping each type of fabric from the product. If a Fan is built in we take these out so they can be used again. Ropes and Bag’s depending on the condition will also get used again. For the main inflatable we recycle them by turning the inflatable into what is known as small pellets. These pellets can then be used to remake fabrics and other products as opposed to using new raw materials for the products.
The Simple Office Things
It is not just in our products where we look to reduce our Carbon Footprint we also look at everything we do where we can reduce our footprint. When sending things out to customers they may noticed the box it arrives in might be slightly used that is because we try to recycle everything as opposed to chucking straight out. Of course there is a point where the box is no longer capable of being used, then we simply place it ready for the recycling company to take them. All the lights in the office are motion sensitive meaning if no one is in the office after a few minutes they turn off. Simple things.
